Do I need prior nanny experience?

Yes. Previous experience working with families as a nanny is required.As part of the admissions process, applicants will be asked to provide professionalreferences. References will be contacted by the school as part of our commitment tomaintaining high admissions standards.

Will classes be in person?

Yes. The school is designed as an immersive, in-person educational experience,allowing students to participate in hands-on instruction, practical workshops, real-world simulations, and collaborative learning.

How long is the program?

The full-time program is approximately 12 weeks (600 instructional hours) andcombines classroom education, practical application, simulations, and experientiallearning.

What certifications will I receive?

Upon successfully completing the program, graduates will receive the certificationassociated with their enrolled pathway.Depending on eligibility and program enrollment, graduates may earn either theCertified Professional Nanny (CPN) or Certified Professional Governess (CPG)credential, along with additional certifications earned throughout the program.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. Students are expected to maintain a polished, professional appearance throughoutthe program.Specific dress code guidelines will be provided before the start of the school and aredesigned to reflect the standards expected within private households.

Will there be practical training?

Absolutely.Practical learning is a core part of the school experience. Students will participate inhands-on workshops, household simulations, organization projects, creative play labs,children's cooking experiences, communication exercises, travel preparation, etiquette instruction, museum and educational outings, and real-world scenarios designed to build confidence and professional judgment.

Is housing available?

At this time, housing is not provided as part of the academy.Students are welcome to attend from anywhere in the United States; however, thosetraveling from outside the Houston area will be responsible for arranging their ownhousing and transportation during the program.Should housing options become available in the future, updated information will beshared on our website and with prospective students.

Do I have to live in Houston to attend?

No.The Governess Guide School welcomes students from across the United States. You do not need to reside in Houston to attend the program.Students traveling from outside the Houston area are responsible for arranging theirown housing and transportation for the duration of the program. We encourage out-of-town students to secure accommodations before the start of the academy to ensure a smooth transition and successful learning experience.
